elzoghby.com broadcasts the world famous Al Ain
Aerobatic Show live on the Internet.
February 15th, 2009
elzoghby.com, an Egyptian based web design and internet broadcast
firm was contracted to broadcast the world famous Al Ain Aerobatic
Show live on the internet from the UAE to thousands of viewers
around the world.
The webcast covered the four days of the event, and was featured on
the world's first air sports internet TV channel, Airsports.tv
Held under the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of
the UAE Armed Forces, and organized by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA),
the Al Ain Aerobatic Show, which featured the Middle East debut of
Aero GP – aviation’s Formula 1 - ran each afternoon from January
28-31st.
Some of the world’s best aerobatics performers took to the skies
over Al Ain on Wednesday as the Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2009 flew
into aviation’s record books as the first global event to mark Air
Racing’s centennial.
Aero GP Managing Director, Jeff Zaltman, said he was looking forward
to getting the first championship of the new season off to a great
start in Al Ain.
In addition to Aero GP thrills, the 130,000 spectators at Al Ain
International Airport have witnessed world-class performances from
15 display teams.
Among them is England’s Swift Glider Display Team, which harnesses
the power of gravity to perform breath-taking, engine-free stunts
and Italy’s popular Team Pioneer, famous for painting the sky with
its brightly-colored flares. From the Scandinavian Airshow, the
playful ‘Skycats’ will perform on the wing of a speeding bi-plane,
while on the ground, Hollywood stuntman, Mark Hager, brings his
pyrotechnically-enhanced precision-driving show, Hager’s Raiders, to
Al Ain.
elzoghby.com used both Flash and Windows Media technologies to
broadcast the event live to the Internet audience. Viewers were able to
watch the live stream from their standard internet browsers, no
special software needed.
Ahmad Elzoghby, Managing Director of elzoghby.com, said, "Al Ain
Aerobatic Show is the biggest Air Show in the region, and this was a
great opportunity to bring this well recognized event to all
aerobatic enthusiasts and internet viewers as it happened minute by
minute. The entire concept of live internet broadcast is new to the
Middle East region and we hoped this event established a key point in
changing this. It is much easier
and more cost effective to watch the event as it happens minute by
minute live over the Internet than to pack and go to actually attend
the event."
